In Search of Mustangs is the first all-encompassing registry and census of its kind. Founded in 1979, its original purpose was to document Mustang production from all three assembly plants in Dearborn, Michigan; San Jose, California; and Metuchen (Edison), New Jersey.
In the early 1990s, Jim Smart and Jim Haskell published a two-volume book series known as the
Mustang Production Guide — with Volume 1 for 1965-66 and Volume 2 for 1967-73. Portions of these books are now available to view online at the In Search Of Mustangs website.
We will continue the registry as an on-line effort and we are expanding to include ALL years of Mustangs! We have loaded most of the 1965-1973 data collected by Jim Smart and Jim Haskell, over 50,000 Mustangs! We are now collecting and loading additional 1965 - 2012 Mustangs data. Register your Mustang today and check back with us at least monthly to see what has been added.
Make sure you become registered member if you want to receive news and updates as new information is added. Registered members can also earn points for contributing to this community effort and receive discounts and gifts from participating merchants.
Thank You,
