When I reflect on the history of In Search of Mustangs in its most productive years, I can't help but remember Tom Scheerer of Wichita, Kansas who gathered and contributed more data than anyone else in the project's 30 year history

On March 31, 1983, Tom wrote, "This brings my total list to 506 according to my latest card file," - but there would be thousands more from Tom as the years passed. He added, "A mobile car crushing outfit came through this area about two months ago and a lot of Mustangs bit the big one. I almost cried..." Tom promised to remain on the job of documenting classic Mustangs and kept his word for many years to follow. "I might have 5% of the Mustangs in this area covered, probably much less. This is MUSTANG COUNTRY," he added.

Tom - if you are still out there and still have a steamy passion for classic 1965-73 Mustangs, we'd like to hear from you. That said - what have you done for us lately? =)

And by the way, our data collection efforts continue - do write to us at thesmart67@msn.com.
