The title picture for this article was first published in the February, 1965 issue of Playboy magazine. It features Donna Michelle, the 1964 Playboy Playmate of the Year along with the elusive 1965 (or 1964 1/2) Mustang she was awarded, as well as several other prizes.
This car led to the invention of the term "Playboy Pink". While Ford never used this term, there were many Mustangs that have been painted pink over the years. Many would consider this car the "mother" of them all.
Very little information is available on this car. It is assumed to be a 1964 1/2 model. It appears to be a re-paint, meaning the original color was likely NOT pink.
What we can derive from these pictures:
- V8, its hard to read, but looks like a 260
- White interior
- Accent Group option (rocker panel molding, no rear quarter ornamentation)
- Back up lamps
- Wire Wheel Covers
- Latest production date would be July, 1964 (if the motor IS a 260) or November, 1964 (if the motor IS a 289)
If anyone has any credible information about this Mustang, we would like to know about it!
