The 2015 Ford Mustang is having quite a year so far. After posting the highest sales for a month in almost a decade, it’s becoming obvious that this year’s pony car is one of the most popular models on the road today. The past few years has seen the Mustang’s rival, the Chevy Camaro, post impressive sales stats while the Mustang maintained a loyal following.
This year’s model has, however, resonated with the public and with the new model Camaro not due out until next year, the Ford is enjoying its rightful place at the top of the heap, thanks in no small part to the slick new body design, safety features and performance upgrades, not to mention a significant role in the new Fast and Furious movie, “Furious 7”. We’ve previously discussed how prominent a role the movies have played in highlighting the Ford Mustang. It’s no surprise that featuring a car in a popular movie does wonders for sales numbers. Many will remember when a yet unveiled Camaro was seen in the Transformers movie and the subsequent buzz that was generated followed by a major spike in sales and one can only wonder with great anticipation which car Hollywood plans to promote in its next production.
The new Ford Mustang model enjoyed a 36.1% increase in sales for March, while the Camaro limped into April after suffering a disappointing 30.9% decrease in sales for the month of April. With all the improvements and good looks found in the Ford Mustang, the rest of the year’s outlook is bright and shows no signs of slowing down, both figuratively and literally.
