It is once again time for Ford Mustang enthusiasts from all over the world to gather in Carlisle, Pennsylvania at the Carlisle Fairgrounds to revel in the excitement of seeing and showing off their favorite pony cars. For four decades, early June has marked the beginning of the Carlisle Ford Nationals, where each year over 2,800 Ford, Mercury and Lincolns are put on display along with concept cars, customs and historically significant trucks and cars.

For parents who bring along their children, there are a number of activities to keep them entertained while the adults can take part in test drives by the Ford Motor Company as well as watching the ever popular burnout competition. Another interesting facet of the event is the all yellow, all black and all red Ford Mustang showcase where the cars are gathered according to their color and put on display in an eye popping exhibit.

Not to be overlooked is the massive swap meet where one can find an impressive array of parts for purchase. Premiering during the downtown cruise-in on Saturday, June 6 at the Carlisle Theater will be a new documentary film called Demon on Wheels which is about a man named Mike Ondish and his efforts to restore his beloved 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback as a tribute to his hero, Carroll Shelby. The film chronicles the challenges and rewards of undertaking such a project should strike a chord with anyone who has ever had experience restoring an old Mustang.

The Carlisle Ford Nationals is one of the largest and most popular car shows around and considering the unrivaled popularity of the 2015 Ford Mustang, this year should prove to be one of the best ever.
